College & Career Planning

What do you want to do for a living?  What kind of training do you need to land your dream job?  Where do you need to go to get that training?
These are just some of the key, guiding questions for figuring out what to do after high school.

Whether your career goals lead you to a college/university program, a technical or trade school, or the military, everyone is strongly recommended to get some form of career training and education after high school.  We hope the resources among these pages are helpful in your postsecondary planning journey.

BRIDGE Law Activities at NMHS

The Building Resourceful Individuals to Develop Georgia's Economy (BRIDGE) Law was developed and passed in the Georgia legislature in 2010.  This law set requirements for certain guidance activities to occur in a strategic order in grades 6 through 12, with the aim for each activity to help students learn how to explore career and college options.  In this manner, the BRIDGE Law is meant to help students see the relevance of education to their dreams and future plans through the use of Individual Graduation Planning.  Click here for the GA Department of Education's BRIDGE Law reference sheet.

The following BRIDGE Law activities take place each year at the high school level.  Click either activity to see the activity "dashboard" used by the school counselors for that grade's BRIDGE activity.  These dashboards were used to guide the group activity, but hopefully also help as students continue their college and career exploration individually and/or as parents want to see what counseling activities are taking place.
